Lliria Tourism - Panoramic view of Lliria

Lliria is a town in the Valencian Community (Spain) located to the northwest of the Valencia province and 25 km from Valencia city centre. It is the capital of the Camp de Turia region. It has an outstanding cultural historical heritage and it is, undoubtedly, one of the main Valencian historical towns.

Llíria is, on its own merits, “the City of Music”. This designation and international recognition is due to the existence of two local music societies whose respective bands and orchestras have received numerous awards and gained great international prestige. The Banda Primitiva and the Unión Musical are possibly the leading exponents in the recent history of Llíria. Their origins date back to the nineteenth century and their development to the early twentieth century.

Llíria also has three other prestigious music groups: the Music Group Vicente Giménez, the Plectrum Orchestra el Micalet and the Music Band UDP, the first band for pensioners and retired people to be set up in Spain.

Undoubtedly, Llíria is the Valencian town with the greatest musical tradition of all, and it is also home to one of the most significant collections of archaeological sites and historical monuments in the whole of the Valencian territory. These two characteristics make it a complete “Symphony of Cultures” for the enjoyment of both the inhabitants of Lliria and its visitors.
