Llíria presents this year a new tourist route on the defensive heritage of the Civil War

THE “SIMFONIA DE CULTURES” GUIDED TOUR PROGRAM AND THE MUSICAL EVENTS WILL BE OTHER ATTRACTIONS OF THE CITY OFFER AT FITUR 2023

The historical heritage that covers various cultures and musical events will once again be the central axis of the promotion of the tourist offer of Llíria throughout 2023, which will be announced at the international tourism fair in Madrid, Fitur, which will be held from 18 to 22 January.

In addition, the capital of Camp de Túria will introduce new elements as attractions for visiting the city. One of them will be the “Llíria 1936-39” Defensive Heritage Route, designed and signposted last year and which will offer an itinerary through different architectural structures from the period of the Spanish Civil War. This initiative will be presented on the day of January 20 at Fitur.

In this sense, the Councilor for Tourism, Paco García, recalled that “since 2017, these archaeological remains have been classified as Assets of Local Relevance, pending their future inclusion in the catalog of Assets of Cultural Interest.”

“Now, and based on the successful exhibition ‘Sang, suor i ciment: la línia fortificada de Llíria durant la Guerra Civil’, we have created this new tourist route coinciding with the 85th anniversary of the construction of the main Valencian defense lines”, the mayor has explained.

Thus, it will be possible to visit some of the most outstanding elements of the Llíria fortified line such as trenches, powder magazines, shelters, and anti-aircraft or machine gun nests, in order to publicize the most recent history of the municipality.

cultural tourism
Likewise, Turisme Llíria will give the option of enjoying, this year, a new edition of “Llíria Simfonia de Cultures”, the program of spring themed guided tours that will also commemorate World Water Day and World Museum Day.

And in active tourism, the municipal area has renewed the signposting of the Fornillers and Barranc del Gasque routes, belonging to the Concòrdia trails, approved as PRVs, short-distance routes.

Turisme Llíria will be present at Fitur at the UNESCO Creative Cities counter in the province of Valencia, at the stand of the Turisme València board of trustees, within the Turisme Comunitat Valenciana area. It will share this exhibitor with the only other city in the province of the UNESCO Network, Manises, Creative City in the Craft modality.

In this way, “we will also value its status as City of Music, with its powerful programming starring our musical societies and other events such as the eMe (Old Music) festivals, El DesenJazz (jazz and contemporary music) and the LLUM Fest (Llíria Universal Music)”, commented Paco García. All of them under the regional brand Mediterranew Musix, a project to promote tourism through music.

thematic routes
On the other hand, the visit to the historical heritage of the city can be done through the thematic routes ‘Llíria Histórica’, ‘Rutas de las Ermitas’, ‘Ruta Ibero-edetana’, ‘Edeta Romana’, ‘Lyria Medieval’ and ‘Renaissance and Baroque Llíria’. These proposals are supported by the also regional project, CreaTurisme, which has cultural leisure experiences such as the award-winning Històries Nocturnes and the Iberian culture festival, Iber-Llíria.

Regarding active tourism, the leading role will be for the natural landscapes of the La Concòrdia mountain and the Font de Sant Vicent, the equestrian and hiking routes, and activities such as balloon flights.

To all this, we must add the richness of its local gastronomy, present under the Aliments Tradicionals de Llíria brand and with events as singular as the “A mos redó” or “L’esmorzaret llirià” fair. Or also its extensive festive program throughout the year that includes the celebrations of Sant Miquel, Sant Vicent, Puríssima, Remei, Holy Week and Las Fallas.
